1. Go to Messages.
2. Click on Message requests.
If you have any requests (a message from someone NOT a buddy on Facebook) they will show here the same as they do in the regular message area.
3. To see if you have any filtered messages you have to click the words "See Filtered Requests" that reveals at the very top of any messages you do have.
Now, I will be truthful ... I do give congratulations to Facebook for being fairly reliable with the filtered requests. For the many part what I have actually gotten in mine is really spam. There were 2 in there that were exactly what i would not describe as spam, that is why inspecting these messages is so important to see what exists.
