How To Change Email On Facebook
Inning accordance with Facebook: "Your Facebook email is based on your public username. Email sent out to this address goes to Facebook Messages.".
It's obvious that Facebook wants users to invest more time on their website. More time on Facebook indicates more info they can gather. Emailing through the Facebook platform is one way to do so. Facebook assumes that considering that we're on the platform, we may as well email there as well. Ahhh, not so much. Sneaking this brand-new e-mail into our settings without prior permission isn't really the finest way to win users over.
We do have the option about whether or not to use Facebook. But leaving Facebook is the modern-day equivalent of fleing from house. We all understand you'll come back. Mwahahaha.
If you do not want to escape but don't want to use Facebook e-mail, how do you remove it?
As far as I understand, you can not completely remove the Facebook e-mail. Facebook makes us think that we can. But when we really enter into the settings, it's not possible.
You can either:.
1). Hide the Facebook e-mail from your timeline.
2). Make the Facebook email offered to be seen just by you.
Note: You can Remove other of your emails noted, but you can not eliminate your Facebook e-mail. Pretty convenient for Facebook, eh?
In any of the above 2 cases, you'll have to get to the Settings first.
- Click Update Information from your Profile.
- Scroll Down to Contact Details (under Fundamental Information) then hit Edit.
1. To Hide the Facebook e-mail from your Timeline:.
On the far right, you'll see a circle with an arrow pointing down.
Click the down arrow and select "Hidden from Timeline.".
Scroll down to the bottom and strike "Save.".
2. To make the Facebook e-mail only viewable by you:.
The default is set to be seen by Friends. To change this setting:.
Select the individuals icon left wing.
Scroll down to the Lock that states "Just Me." Select.
Scroll down to the bottom and hit "Conserve.".
And there you have it.
Now would be a good time to review and update any of your other privacy settings.
