5. Click Manage Account. It's the last option on the page.

7. Enter your Facebook password. You'll do this in the text field near the middle of the page.

8. Click Continue. As long as your password is proper, doing so will take you to the deactivation page.

9. Click a factor for shutting off. You'll do this in the "Reason for leaving" section near the bottom of the page.

- If you desire Facebook to reactivate your account instantly after a week or less, click This is short-term. I'll be back. then choose a number of days to keep your account shut down.

10. Click Close if prompted to take separate action. Depending upon your chosen factor for leaving, Facebook might suggest that you log out or add pals instead of deactivating your account.

11. Evaluation the exit options. Before deactivating your account, you can check or uncheck the following choices:

- Email pull out - Check this box to avoid Facebook from sending emails to you.
