Who Is Stalking My Facebook | Over the past couple of weeks a lot of my trainees insisted they understand 'a method' to see who took a look at your facebook profile the many. Typically I don't care about such 'myths' however considering that it didn't die and students didn't believe my 'that's difficult to work' here a brief blog site post about it and the reason that it will not work.

Who Is Stalking My Facebook

The concept: Learn your facebook ID (if you have no idea the best ways to do that, google it. Easy as 1,2,3), browse to your profile through your own ID, right click, open source code then see your 'stalker'.

Here are some screenshots that reveal how it must work.

1.) Navigate to your profile through your ID, right click and see page source.

2.) Look for the entry 'friendslist' in the source code.

And here the factor why this DOES NOT WORK!

1.) Pals and the private information Facebook collects from them and you is their greatest great. They would NEVER EVER make it accesible and easy to learn. If you can find it out like this, everybody else might find it out too. Just think about the issues this might trigger. That's something Facebook would never ever want to happen because they would enter lots of problem.

2.) This part of the source code does reveal some type of a list, true. But it is quite most likely that it reveals the friends you are most likely to connect with. As you may now Facebook ranks your pals and the news you see and on wich position your good friends appear on your interaction with them. So if you are most likely to engage with a pal (say it's your sister or somebody you utilized to talk to a lot over the past few days) this pal will make it to the top of the list. It is NOT the individual who visited your profile the last.

3.) If you don't think me, believe some of the other geeks and Facebook addicts out there. Example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13789565/what-is-the-significance-of-orderedfriendslistinitialdata.

Hope that helps and the myth of 'I understand who visited my profile last/ most' will finally pass away.

Ways You Can Block A Facebook Stalker

1. Via Your Block Lists

You can obstruct both people and applications.

In Facebook, go to > Account > Privacy Settings and find the item called > Block Notes at the bottom of the page. Click the > Modify your lists connect to continue.

On the following page you can go into Facebook users by name and email address and block them.

If there are several people with the exact same name, you will see a list of matching profiles. Click the > Block button next to the person you were trying to find.

2. Via Their Profile.

On each Facebook user profile there is a > Report/Block this Person link at the bottom left. Click this link and a window will turn up that allows you to make a choice.

For instance, you might report the individual for > Undesirable contact and inspect the box to > Block this person. If you choose the block, the name will appear in your Block Lists, as explained above.

3. Via Their Messages.

If the individual you want to obstruct has sent you any messages, you can obstruct them by clicking the > Report link beside their name and the date the message was received. To see the link you should open the message. As soon as you click it, a window with further options will pop up.

Note that nobody you obstruct will be alerted of the action. However, if they are on your good friend list, they will be eliminated and your profile will not be visible to them. Also, you won't have the ability to see their profile. You both will be invisible to each other, with the exception of 3rd celebration applications.

If you accidentally obstructed somebody, you can easily get rid of the block. Go to your Block Lists and click the > Unblock link beside the person's name. You will be asked to verify. Uncloging an individual will not bring back a previous connection.

4. Remove Your Fundamental Directory Site Info.

If you have a major stalker, possibilities are they will simply set up a new Facebook account as soon as you block them. In this case you must consider making your profile personal, so that strangers can not discover and harass you.

The very first thing you need to do, is eliminate as much of yourself as possible from the > Standard Directory Site Information. Go to > Account > Personal privacy Settings and click > View Settings.

On the following page you can define who can browse and discover you on Facebook, send good friend requests or messages, see your friend list, and more. For each item select thoroughly from the following alternatives: Everyone, Buddies of Buddies, or Friends Only.

Unfortunately, you can not entirely conceal yourself. Facebook states that "your name, profile photo, gender, and network are always open up to everyone." This discusses why.

5. Tighten Your Personal Privacy Settings.

Besides limiting basic directory site details, you must likewise limit who can see the important things you are sharing. Return to > Account > Personal privacy Settings and click the > Customize settings to change your > Sharing on Facebook choices. You can also select from a default setting.

A brand-new page with a list of options will open. Go through all the points and decide who you wish to see your posts, your personal details, or things others share with you. You can pick from Everyone, Friends of Pals, Buddies Just, or Tailor each point and make the information visible to just yourself or hide it from specific people.

Conclusion.

It goes without saying that Facebook is just one medium through which a person can stalk you. No matter how tight your privacy settings or how reliable the people on your buddy list are, somebody determined to discover and harass you still has the remainder of the web at their disposal. Be sure to treat your individual information, your contact information, and your online personal privacy in general like a raw egg.
